This was made in Flash?  That’s just terrible.

From the structure itself you’re right,  no need for flash.  But they built the site to show images as site background,  and doing that flash is still the best way to get nice results.

Not just the backgrounds,  but the navigation within individual project sections is some really nicely executed flash.
